Notes: For lavillanueva. I related rather strongly to her Harry from I Can Make You Promises, and this piece became a little more personal than I thought it would be. :)

Excerpt:

"Such as," Draco says, settling into position again, "these are going to ache for days."

"Days?"

"Days." He makes the first cut and Harry jerks, but stills after Draco shoots him a dark look. "And they're going to take months to heal." He draws the second mark, careful to line it up with the cut on the opposite side. Harry makes a noise, but doesn't move. "They'll be red, then pink," he makes the third cut, "and then they'll fade to white. But you know what?"

"What?" Harry asks, his voice soft and easy.

"Even after they heal, the scars will still be there." He's working quickly now, guiding the blade with confidence. Perhaps he's not so far out of practice. "And they'll never go away."

"Never?"

"Never," Draco promises, and makes the final cut. "You'll have them forever."

Ah, in all honesty, I didn't. :) I first thought I'd really showcase the scars, but rather than just the focus on the physical, it morphed in to this more intimate look at Harry's emotions from them and the bruises.

Absolutely stunning. I cannot tell you how much admire your Harry here. Of course, there is his perfectly sculpted male torso, but what blows me away is the slight crook to his mouth and his gaze at himself, full of such subtle pride - at the scars? At being marked all Draco's? The red of the Auror robes makes this image complete. Thanks so much for this.

I'm delighted you like my Harry, with his trained body. His feelings here certainly have to do with both the scars and being marked Draco, as well as marveling at the bruises: the way they change, and when he moves, the sharp reminder they're under his clothes. I think the Auror robes help ground the piece in reality instead of mere fantasy. Thank you so much, darling! :)

What you've brought out here with his body language and his face is just really amazing. What we see on Harry is a form of communication and even when he's alone, what he is seeing speaks to him and tells him what he needs to hear. I just love this!

I don't know the story at all, but I suspect you cut to the brutal heart of its message, as you are so able to do. What I particularly admire is the positioning of Harry's head, and the foreshortening of his features. It's so hard not to get facial features squashed looking, and you managed to do that so very well.

On a different topic I'm reading a book with various authors' takes on Cenobites, and the scarification shown in your art is very much in line with images these stories paint in my head.
