Why I like this: I miss longer stories in the weeks between fests. This community encourages length, gives a prime location to post your story for an audience looking forward to that aspect specifically, and promises a new story or a rec of an older story each weekend. Plus, it includes our artists - we have the opportunity to illustrate the new stories. Length is almost like a genre in this case; instead of, say, creature fic, it's a meaty fic. I think it's a gap that is in sore need of being filled, and this is such a wonderful way to do it!

Why I like this: A community to gather together all of the scattered about Harry and Draco birthday presents for both boys is just what we needed. Keep track of all their goodies! Count gifts! Who receives more, Harry or Draco? They may love each other, but I think they'll always be rather competitive! ;) I adore the added excitement I think this Bash will bring to H & D's birthdays during the summer months.

I finally signed up for hd_birthdaybash and the first thing I thought of when I saw the banner was, "This is totes pink_mint's art. Hands down. Really cute banner; it fits so well for the comm and I'm really excited for it! Woot!
